Events for adults
Outdoor activities in Yorkshire for adults
Wild Things loves running events for adults –it’s all about giving adults time to relax as they learn or refine a new skill.
Our next event is Christmas wreath making where we drink mulled gin & enjoy festive nibbles around the campfire before we begin wreath making.
Many of these events are run in partnership with Storm & Rose, who share the same values as myself – unique, sustainable events that bring happiness!

What happens if it rains, snows, or is windy?
While it has never snowed during one of our events, wouldn’t that be lovely? If it rains or snows, we carry on! We have shelters to keep us dry, warm gin, a campfire, and blankets, so please come dressed for the outdoors.
If it becomes too windy to safely stay under the trees, we’ll move the event to a nearby indoor location. You will be informed via text if this occurs.
What do we wear?
Since there’s a playing field to cross to reach Wild Things’ site, we recommend wearing warm boots—walking boots or wellies are best. Layering is key for staying warm.
If temperatures are particularly low (which has yet to happen, as it’s usually mild), we suggest wearing thermals or leggings under your trousers. Long-sleeved tops, woolly jumpers, scarves or snoods, hats, and gloves are also great for staying warm.
What size are the groups?
We keep group sizes relatively small, with up to 12 participants, to ensure everyone receives the support they need. Many attendees find the groups to be very friendly, so don’t hesitate to come on your own!
What sustainable methods do you use?
Instead of using a metal hoop, we create our own using locally grown willow from North Yorkshire. While some foliage is foraged, most is sourced locally. We use twine instead of gardener’s wire to tie the foliage onto the hoop. This means your wreath can be completely composted after Christmas. We recommend keeping your willow hoop; many customers reuse it to create a spring wreath or bring it back for their next Christmas wreath.
